Welcome
The cam4 Optimizer is a Greasemonkey userscript, that adjusts the cam4 webpages in a much more userfriendly way. It removes (almost) all of the annoying advertisments and adds a much better navigation and history function.
It can be downloaded and installed from http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/93560. If you don’t know how to install a userscript or are unfamiliar with the Firefox Greasemonkey plugin please read the Greasemonkey tutorial first at http://wiki.greasespot.net/Greasemonkey_Manual.
Optimizations
Let’s first take a look at the cam4 main listing pages. An unoptimized page (that is, a default cam4 page) looks like this (Click on the image for the full size version):
There are a lot of advertisments scattered all over the page and the list of the users (which we’re interested in after all) only occupies a rather small portion of the screen.
The same page, optimized by the cam4 Optimizer looks like this:
A lot smoother and we clearly have a better view of the available users.
Even better, if we hover over the status message the user has set, and that mesage exeeds the number of characters visible on the profile box, we get a nice mouseover effect that displays the rest of the message:
Also, the listing has been expanded to allow directly loading the next results into the current page instead of opening a new page:
Once you’ve clicked on the “Load next page” link, the page will be enhanced like this:
Now let’s open a user’s profile page. Without optimizations, there are a lot of advertisments again and the overall look isn’t very encouraging:
A lot of wasted space that we can clearly use better – and the optimized page indeed does it a lot better:
The first box on the top shows all the previous images of the user (if he has chosen to publish those images). They are available in the unoptimized version as well but very unaccessible:
If we want to see the previous picture we’d have to click on the before button. Again and again and again and again. And there is no easy way to get an overview of all the images available. I mean, hey, sometimes you just want to know “does this guy show at all?”.
The optimized version makes it a lot easier to traverse the image history.
Now let’s click on one of the photos in the history area and we jumo right to the history screen. In the unoptimized version, there isn’t much difference to the profile page – just another click and click and click screen:
The optimized version saves you all these hundreds of clicks and presents you the history completely expanded on your screen:
Just click on one of the thumbnails to load the larger image – couldn’t be easier, could it?
Now let’s get back to the profile page and take a look at the second box – the preview images of the user. Although cam4 shows all the images in the unoptimized version, the layout is quite crampy and once we click on one of them we arrive at the worst cam4 page ever – the profile picture detail page:
It’s even worse than it looks: The detail image looks like it has been magnified however this isn’t the largest version of that image! You’d have to open the image itself (which is a nother right-click selecting the option) to get the full beauty of the cock we’re looking at right now ;-)
Clearly we can do a lot better than that with the optimized version:
Another optimization is the adjustment of the username on the profile detail page, giving you a better overview of the users you’re currently watching.
You can also open a popup window for the current user you’re watching – just containing the video and nothing else (nice if you want to keep a few windows open and watch them at the same time).
The button is available below the broadcast video.
So, that’s it for the cam4 optimizer. It surely won’t change the way we look at the guys (or girls) on cam4 but it surely makes a few things a lot easier.
If you like the work done here just send me a message, I’d love to hear from you!

As a gold m ember the link to my fav’s (right side) gets deleted. As a workaround I’ve pinned the page to my left tab app in Firefox.
Your message at the t\op of the ;page is runny/messed up in both FF 7 & 8
Otherwise great!
Thanks, I’ll look into it!
Toll! Großartig! Super!
Nur, dass mit dem Pop-Up-Fenster geht bei mir nicht, es wird immer gesagt, dass es nur als Gold-User geht.
Und, die “Previous Images” könnten unter und nicht über dem Live-Bild angeordnet sein. LG
very nice coding , thumbs up
